Choose a hotel with a swimming pool can make you more comfortable for a business conference

Anytime you travel for business there will of course be instances when you feel stress and anxiety. If you are traveling to attend a business conference there are certain measures that you can take to leave you feeling more relaxed and rejuvenated. One of these measures is choosing a hotel that has a swimming pool.

Although you may not normally pay heed to whether or not your hotel offers a pool, this can be a very relaxing feature. Business conferences tend to make people feel instant stress. Just knowing that the conference has important points that you must remember can leave you feeling anxious, not to mention the fact that many people will be watching you to see how you perform. This is particularly true for conference speakers. If you are planning to attend or speak at an upcoming business conference then you should research in the area in which you will be staying and find hotels that have swimming pools available.

Just imagine the relaxation that you feel while lazing in the pool. If you have a pool at home then you already know how rejuvenating it can be to swim at the end of a long and stressful day. Now imagine that same feeling during your important business conference. Swimming allows you to clear your thoughts and completely relax. There is no better way to let stress ease out of you than by swimming. Swimming offers a health benefit unlike any other exercise. It allows you to breathe easier and eases the stress and tension from your body. If you were to swim for just thirty minutes before your business conference you would be much more relaxed and ready to face the task at hand.

Because of the virtual weightlessness in water, your muscles and joints become completely relaxed while you are swimming. Having the opportunity to relax completely before your upcoming conference, particularly after a long trip, gives you the power to begin your meeting with a fresh outlook and a healthier being.

Typically those who have swimming pools at home do not make it a point to ensure that their hotels have pools. If you know how relaxed your pool at home makes you then you should know how important it is to secure a room in a hotel that offers a pool when you have a big meeting or conference coming up.

This can completely change the way you look and feel during your conference. Relaxation is something that many people do not know how to accomplish. The simple truth is that swimming or just floating in a pool offers one of the quickest and easiest ways to unwind from stress. Just a few minutes in the pool early in the morning before your conference can help you to appear more confident during the meeting. Imagine having the confidence to land a big deal for your firm or to give a speech during a business conference without so much as a second thought. Relaxation is the key to accomplishing both of these things and the best way to relax before an important meeting or seminar is to hit the hotel’s pool.

You can do a quick online search for hotels in the area that you will be staying while on your trip. Find out which ones offer pools, either indoors or out. Once you have determined which hotels have swimming pools, be sure to make reservations with one of these. The stress from your business dealings, your trip itself and just the everyday worries of life will all fall away the second you step into that crystal clear water.

Location Glasgow airport Eat Ideas

Shoppers at the airport can enjoy the duty free shopping and perhaps pick up a bargain at the same time. Passengers can purchase beauty products, perfume, designer products, wine, spirits and much more. The purchases are made air side and passengers can then take their goods on board the plane with them. Generally prices are much lower in the duty free shops than travellers can buy in the shops outside the airport. If you have forgotten to buy anything for your holiday or a souvenir then this is a good time to catch up on your gift shopping.

Once you have finished your shopping you may feel peckish and thirsty and may wish to take a seat at one of the many cafes and bars that the airport has to offer. If you have time for a nice relaxing drink before your flight you can sit down at perhaps the Drum and Monkey and order a great pub meal with your drink. You can ask to sample a local brew at the J&R Tennant Pier Bar.

Take a seat at the Sanderling where you can taste a local dram while ordering a family meal. If you prefer a wine bar serving fantastic sandwiches and salads as well good wines then head over to Bargo.

All the above mentioned bars are all air side but if passengers wish they can settle down at the Sandpiper which is before security and serves family meals as well as beer and wines.

If you prefer just to grab a coffee and read your newspaper then maybe Cafe Nero is you cup of tea. The cafe can be found before and after passengers make their way security. Your an relax and watch the world go by drinking the great Italian flavours on offer.

After security families can relax and order some pizza or pasta from Frankie and Bennies family restaurant. The restaurant is well known for cosy seating New York style with leather seated booths which can hold up to six persons. The children are given an A3 size sheet filled with puzzles and word searches and pictures to colour in with the restaurant supplying the crayons and pencils. Everyone is kept happy whilst enjoying their meal.

In Glasgow there is a well known fish and chip restaurant called Harry Ramsdens. Families can also sit down and enjoy their fish tea at the airport restaurant before they catch their plane.

In the airport you can also find Greggs and O’Briens sandwich shop offering mouth watering cakes, sandwiches and filled rolls which are out of this world.

Not forgetting everyones favourite MacDonald's and Burger King.

If you are hungry, before boarding a plane or just leave your friends and family members.
I'm sure everyone will find something to eat and enjoy, regardless of their tastes.

Buon Appetito.

Los Angeles Tourist Attractions – Shopping Like A Star & Palos Verdes

Publikavo: comicostatb February 26th, 2010

The most absurdly beautiful coastal stretch in all of LA is not in Malibu or Santa Monica but on the little-known Palos Verdes Peninsula (PV in local jargon), a terraced promontory that captivates the equal drama and grace. Cruise along Palos Verdes Dr, especially at sunset, for awesome eyefuls of the shoreline. Steep cliffs tumble down to rocky shores and secluded coves as the roadway ribbons past rambling multi-million-dollar mansions where horses graze lazily. Catalina Island moons hazily across the sparkling Pacific.

This is great kayaking, snorkeling, diving and surfing territory, but coastal access is a bit cumbersome and locals can be terrtorial. In fact, the only easily accessible beach is Malaga Cove. This is also the famous Haggerty’s surf spot mentioned in the Beach Boys’ hit Surfin’ USA.

There’s some tide-pooling here but the best place to hunt for starfish, anemones and other shoreline critter is at Abalone Cove Shoreline Park ( 9am-4pm ), a rock-strewn eco-preserved one mile further on. The walk down to the beach gets pretty steep in some sections, so watch your footing. Parking fee cost $6. There are a lot more attractions in the Palos Verdes Peninsula which you can visit while you’re at it.

Los Angeles Tourist Attractions : Venice Boardwalk

Life in Venice moves to a different rhythm and nowhere more so than on the famous Venice Boardwalk ( between Venice Pier to Rose Ave; admission free; 24hr ), officially known as Ocean Front Walk. It’s a freak show, a human zoo and a wacky carnival, but as far as LA experiences go, it’s a must. This is where to get your hair braided, your karma corrected or your back massaged qi gong-style. Encounters with budding Schwarzeneggers, hoopdreamings, a Speedo-clad snake charmer and a roller-skating Sikh minstrel are pretty much guaranteed, especially on hot summer days. The Sunday-afternoon drum circle draws hundreds of revelers for tribal playing and spontaneous dance. If the noise does not show the way there, just follow your nose to the stench and "tabaccy of mind. Alas, the mood Boardwalk to get a little" scheme after sunset.

How to get an overview of your hotel room to Candide Book

Publikavo: comicostatb February 26th, 2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Undoubtedly, many travelers would benefit if they were able to see real, candid views of their hotels before they actually stayed in them. There is a website that was designed to do just that, TVtrip. This is an independent web site whose sole goal and purpose is to allow visitors the unique opportunity to explore hotels before setting foot in them. How do they plan to achieve this? They send film crews to visit the hotels, and take videos of them. That way, you the traveler can see the area you will be staying in, and the quality of the room before you book. It could make all the difference whether you actually book the hotel or not.

Since all the hotel videos are taken by professionals, they only have a limited number of hotels listed, although the listings do cover most major cities, such as London and Glasgow in the UK, and Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam are included in their European coverage.

The site seems like a great idea. You select where you will be visiting, and they give you a listing of hotels in the area. Choose a hotel that interests you. Next, you get a details page which displays a helpful map of the area, a detailed description of the hotel, a list of amenities available, and a complete video-breakdown of the hotel. The video would include an overview, and a look around the different rooms they have available at the hotel you selected.

The site seems to be housed on a good server, the videos are clear and crisp and buffer very quickly, then stream smoothly without any stuttering or pausing. The videos give you a very good indication of the size and quality of the room, and there is no ‘clever camera work’ done to make the rooms look bigger or nicer than they really are. The good thing is that if the hotel is in a rather run-down looking part of town, that is clear on the overview too. You won’t surprised to see the hotel location once you get there, you will know about it in advance.

Unfortunately, there is a problem worth mentioning here. The main problem lies in the limited hotel coverage of the website. We travel quite regularly, and go to a number of different countries, but the cities that we tend to visit are not included in TVTrip , most likely because they are not common tourist destinations. Only one place we pass through regularly is included, London, and the listings they have are all expensive, high class hotels which are mostly out of my price range.

If you are someone who visits ‘tourist cities’ frequently, and can afford to stay in more expensive hotels, then this web site will save you a lot of disappointment. If you are faced with a choice between an expensive three star hotel, or a cheaper four star one, and the lack of a swimming pool is not important, then TVTrip may help you make an informed choice based upon the size and quality of the room, instead of taking a gamble based on the hotels own photographs, or trying to guess if the ‘user’ reviews on tourist sites are accurate.

It is worth checking TVTrip on the off chance that the hotel you are considering is listed, but until the site expands to cover more hotels we think it is just a nice idea, and a fun tool. Apparently, they plan to allow visitors to share their own videos, and when that happens, we think it will really take off, and that it will be something that every traveler should check them out before booking the hotel.

What makes Arizona such a great place to visit?

Publikavo: comicostatb February 26th, 2010

Just what is it about the Arizona desert that attracts so many people to this state?

Is it because of the diverse climate? Is it because Arizona is known so well known for the highly rated golf courses that allows golfers to play virtually every day? Is it because of the high quality health care that exists throughout the state?

Or is the reason that so many people flock to the desert southwest is just because of the simple fact that constant sunshine can be felt on more than 300 days a year?

There really is no single reason why so many people travel or permanently move to Arizona. There just happens to be a long list of many cities and remote towns that offer visitors everything they are looking for.

The size of the state may just have something to do with the popularity of Arizona tourism, as well. Arizona ranks sixth among the states in size and is spread out over 114,006 square miles, (295,274 square kilometers), which includes 364 square miles, (943 square kilometers) of water. The size certainly offers not only the visitors, but the residents more than enough room to explore this wondrous southwestern United States attraction.

Arizona is home to the world famous Grand Canyon and so many other famous tourist sites such as Sedona, Tucson, Phoenix and the White Mountains and the famous road known as Route 66, that never stop attracting people from experiencing the amenities that the Grand Canyon state offers.

Whether you are looking for the city life of Phoenix or Scottsdale or looking to take in a little rest and relaxation of the mountainous high country, Arizona has so many places to choose from that the only problem you might have is choosing one single location over the other locations that attract so people from many cities and countries.

Many visitors will be traveling to the desert southwest when Arizona hosts Super Bowl 42 on February 3, 2008. There have been many already who have purchased their Super Bowl tickets and have made all of their other necessary reservations to experience this NFL experience of a lifetime.

Arizona tourism allows everyone to explore the diverse landscapes that can be found throughout the state. Believe it or not, if you travel to the state of Arizona in the winter months, you will also be able to explore such winter activities like skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling, too.

If you are wondering where to stay when you visit you can always request an Arizona Travel Guide that will assist you with your travel plans.

Arizonan truly has it all. If you like warmer weather, you can be rest assured that you will find that, as temperatures in the summer typically range well over 100 degrees. In the summer months, there usually aren’t too many days when it is humid, except for the monsoon season, which runs from the first part of July until the first part of September. Even then, if you have lived or live in an area outside of Arizona where it is known for humidity, you will likely think that the monsoon season is not that humid compared to what you are accustomed to.

Whatever your interests or skill levels are, there’s an endless list of activities that involve AZ tourism!

Golf Hotel in Swindon

Publikavo: comicostatb February 25th, 2010

I have been visiting many cities in UK due to my passion for traveling and discovering different places. When my friends and I travel, we make sure that we go to different golf courses and play just to relax from the stress we get from work. During the course of my travels, I have experienced staying in different kinds of hotels and inns. There are some that provided me with great service and comfortable stay. There are some that I would definitely not enter again. Among the different cities we’ve been to, Swindon was our favorite town. There are many hotels wherein you could book a reservation when you visit Swindon, but there are three hotels that we frequent most often. These are also my personal favorites:

Blunsdon House Hotel

Blundson House Hotel is a four star premier hotel which houses 116 beautifully decorated and furnished suites within its main building and pavilion. It is located in Blundson which is 10 minutes away from junction 15 of M4 motorway. It has a parking lot that could accommodate up to 300 cars. Two different kinds of restaurants are also in this hotel, one having an informal and lively atmosphere, Christies and a fine dining restaurant, Nichols. Both offer delectable dishes, specially selected champagnes and wines, and desserts with prices that are worth every value of your money. Drinking a couple of cocktails on their bars at night could also be an option. You could relax in their suites with your choice of either King or Queen Beds, complete with tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar, trouser press, LCD TV, hi speed internet access, power shower, bathrobe, towels, and other complimentary toiletries. Wanting a spacious room complete with walk in shower, separate bath, and balcony overlooking the golf course? Then you could try their Pavilion Executive rooms. Various leisure facilities are present; you won’t get bored on your stay. For golf enthusiasts, the hotel has a 9 hole, par 3 golf course and a one mile woodland walk where in you could practice your swings. Town center and railway is only 15 minutes drive from this hotel, you could reach local attractions and outlet stores easily.

Whatley Manor

Whatley Manor is a beautifully restored Cotswold Manor House situated 8 miles from junction 17 of the M4. It has beautiful landscaped gardens, peaceful open countryside, 15 luxurious rooms and 8 suites that will make you feel like a king or queen during your stay. The hotel’s restaurant is the renowned “The Dining Room” that boasts classic French Cuisine with a modern interpretation. Their rooms are designed individually and with high standards. They also offer many leisure facilities such as hydro pool, salt scrub showers, and thermal cabins. Several golf courses and other local attractions are within minutes of drive away from the hotel.

Ivy Hotel

Ivy Hotel is a stylish and traditionally designed hotel. The Victorian feel and decorations remained on its main building but it also has a new wing that houses 20 rooms connected by a naturally styled conservatory. It is situated in the village of Wroughton. Each room has antique furnishing and is recently refurbished to provide the guests with powerful showers, luxury toiletries, bathrobes, free wi-fi broadband, and candles. The hotel does not have leisure facilities on-site but golf courses, swimming pools, leisure centers as well as outlet depots and museums are just 10-15 minutes drive from the Hotel.

Nickelodeon Kid's Suites Hotel

I took my daughter to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and I was looking for a hotel where kids stay at home, I remembered that I had heard Suites Nickelodeon Kid's why I decided to visit their site to see what were all about. I must say that I never saw the site fairly Hotel Suites Nickelodeon Kid's. They are fabulous and fun that makes you look more closely at his hotel.

I booked the hotel through its website, and I was pleasedAAA discount. I paid $129.00 per night for a 2 bedroom suite with bunk beds in the kid’s room. I traveled to the website with my daughter and her friend and I was surprised at how massive the Nickelodeon hotel is. When you drive up to the hotel your kids will get excited because the hotel’s buildings have different Nickelodeon characters painted on their top walls. The hotel is painted in bright and fun colors that let you know the hotel is all about fun.

One thing that pleased me when we arrived is the level of hotel security. The hotel is enclosed by a security gate and the front entrance has a staffed security checkpoint. It made me feel good knowing people cannot just wander into the hotel off the street. We parked and went to check in and we were happy to learn we could check in 1-hour early. The hotel issued wristband room keys to me and the 2 kids which was an added suprise. I hate having to carry room swipe cards and I loved having my room key on my wrist at all times. The kids had their own wristband room keys which is an option that you can turn down when checking in.

When we arrived at our room, the kids were jumping for joy at the wonderful room. The room was big and spacious and full of color and fun. We picked the sponge bob room which had sponge bob displayed on several walls. The living room had a comfy couch with a very nice flat widescreen television set. The kid’s room was equipped with a bunk bed, tv, and a Sony Playstation. The Playstation is such a great way to keep the kids entertained while in the room. My room had a smaller television and a wireless keyboard for paid internet surfing. The bed was very comfy to my surprise. I can honestly say I was not expecting the rooms at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Suites to be this nice. The room is 100% geared towards kids and your kids will never forget staying in one of these suites.

We headed down to the pool area which will is the like no other hotel pool area. The Nickelodeon pool area is more like a water park than a pool. They have a giant water tube, slides, water guns, and shallow pools for your kids to enjoy. The main pool area has a giant green bucket atop the giant water tube and every so often they drop green slime (water) on the kids. You can rent a gazebo tent for the day that comes complete with a tv. The pool area has a couple bars where adults can relax with a drink while the kids fly down the water tubes. Parents don’t let the pools and water scare you, there are plenty of lifeguards on staff to keep the kids safe.

The Nickelodeon Kid’s Suites also has a fabulous food court complete with a nice restaurant and several places to grab a quick bite. In the same area as the food court is the arcade which was a big hit with my daughter. Nearby is a kid’s only salon where the kids can get their nails done, hair braids, fake tattoos, and more. This area also houses the Nickelodeon Tv studio where you and your kids can watch live Nickelodeon tv shows. Your kids even have a chance to be on one of their tv shows that are shot live at the hotel. Across from the tv studio is the Nickelodeon 4d experience theatres where your kids can watch (4) different 4d animations.

The Nickelodeon Kid’s Suites Hotel is now my absolute favorite Orlando Florida hotel. If you have kids you must plan a trip to the Nickelodeon Kid’s Suites Hotel. To visit their website click here

Driving in the Hebrides

Publikavo: comicostatb February 24th, 2010

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The Hebrides are a group of islands off the West coast of Scotland in the United Kingdom from which a very large number of people left to settle in Canada and America when they were forcefully removed from their land during a time known as the ‘clearances’. Today there are a great many people who can trace their roots back to these islands which has led to a steady increase in tourism. The Hebrides consist of two groups the Inner Hebrides, which include the Isle of Skye, and the Outer Hebrides, which include the Isle of Lewis and the adjoined Isle of Harris (often referred to as the Long Island) and numerous other inhabited and uninhabited islands also known as the Western Isles.

The Outer Hebrides are well known for their areas of outstanding natural beauty which include some of the finest beaches you are likely to see in Europe (including those at Uig on Lewis and many on Harris). They are also known for their ancient historical sites of international importance with the most widely known site being the standing stones at Callanish (now known as Calanais), on the West side of the Isle of Lewis, which are considered as important as Stonehenge and other stone circles in Europe.

Even more recent history has created a massive interest in the islands of the Outer Hebrides. St. Kilda is an archipelago which lies a fair distance from the Isle of Harris far out in the Atlantic Ocean which where famously evacuated in the early twentieth century. Their society has long been of interest to scientists as it was run in an almost communist fashion where almost everything was communally shared. It is still possible to visit Hirta (the main island) but this depends heavily upon the severity of the weather as the Hebrides are, at times, extremely windy.

Driving in the Hebrides is a pleasure beyond words with some of the finest driving in the whole of the UK. So good is the experience that the popular UK television series about cars called ‘Top Gear’ have been known to travel there to record driving scenes. If you have never visited the Outer Hebrides prepare yourself to be amazed, although the roads have been massively improved over the last few decades, much of the road system consists of single track road which twists and winds up, down and around the islands passing through varied, but always breathtaking, scenery. Awe inspiring mountains, beautiful lochs, spectacular beaches, small villages, ancient sites, incredible and rare wildlife are just a few of the things you will experience along your journey. One of the most winding roads is to be found on Harris and is known as the ‘Golden Road’ and, if you can handle a car well it is well worth traveling down.

Before driving in the Hebrides it is extremely important that you understand some of the laws and traditions of the highway, especially when driving along the single track roads. Although the roads are often empty of traffic there are times when you will be met by pockets of traffic. Locals will be aware of such times with the obvious being during the usual times when people travel to and from work but there are other times, such as when a ferry is due, when there will be more cars on the road. Always remain aware that there are people going about their usual business and, at the earliest opportunity, allow any vehicles behind you to pass. Locals drive very fast because they know the roads well and, who knows, that car behind you could be racing to catch a ferry and as ferries to and around the Hebrides can run as little as once every couple of days (in the winter) it is extremely important that they do not miss it.

Along the single track roads you will see signs saying “Passing Place” they are small extensions to the road to help in overtaking and will be on the left or right hand side. To allow vehicles to pass safely you should pull into the left at all passing places, pull into those on the left and pull up to the left when they are to the right as both oncoming traffic and that behind will drive into that passing place and around. Only pull into one to the right if the vehicle wishing to pass is very large or long and would find it difficult to pass otherwise. Always indicate early. If you have both oncoming traffic and some behind pull in and those behind will pull in behind you but keep your indicator on so that when the oncoming traffic has passed the traffic behind will know to pull out and overtake. There is simply nothing more annoying than driving in the Hebrides stuck behind a car driven by tourists that are driving slow while taking in the sights and over using their brakes when they spot something of interest. Always keep an eye out for oncoming traffic but also consider those that may appear behind.

When you are driving in the Hebrides there are times when the road simply disappears before you, it might be a blind summit, a sharp bend or a winding road carved through a hillside or, sometimes a mixture. You should approach all such obstacles very slowly keeping as far left as possible. Please be aware that you should avoid pulling off the road as there is, more often than not, a drop and, in some cases, the drop can be extreme. Also the ground on either side of the road is very rough and even off road vehicles can struggle. There may be times when you meet an oncoming vehicle between passing places, if you are certain that it is safe you may attempt to pull far left but it is best to reverse back to the nearest passing place to allow the vehicle to pass.

The Hebrides offer unique challenges to drivers so many that they could not be fully covered here but there are very few accidents and you can ensure your safety by following the tips above and driving carefully at all times. A trip or vacation to the Hebrides is a lifetime experience drive safely and you will want to return again and again.
