I drive for a living, part-time local, special needs people?
Over 2 years ago I asked for this job and got it, they upgraded me to a higher license, an E Class.
I do enjoy the runs but not the lack of hours or the bi-weekly pay.
Yes I know, I’m glad to be working with so many out of a job.
Several weeks ago I happened to do a run with another transportation company. The driver and I had lunch together when we talked about the company he works for. I was impressed and am thinking about putting in my resume. Since that chat I’ve been promoted, twice with the current bus company. The first offer is office work with odd runs, and special charters. The second promotion is training potential drivers. There hasn’t been any talk about pay increase as of yet, but I’d think that would follow. That second promotion takes about a year in training and that’s ok.
So what do you people think I should do?
A little bit on the other job…
I would learn how to drive a coach(bus) get my B or C license and travel all over North America, cool I think. The pay is 60 grand a year to 25 grand a year for now but this too would change in time and I’d be close to home, but that’s not the deal breaker for me.
I’m torn as to what to do.
I am single have one cat no dependents. The second job sounds great but is it all that?
don’t shirk your work for the sake of a dream
A fish in a dish is worth two in the stream
Stay where you are. You know what you got and it is getting better. Maybe they sensed they were going to lose you and decided to make things easier for you.
