I’m thankful that in this economy, I have not one, but two jobs, both of which I really like. I’m also thankful for my friends and family, my loft, my car, my flat-screen and my Xbox 360. And I’m thankful for my life, and the opportunity to live it.

I’m not being flippant or bigoted here, but I’m thankful for my male gender, white skin, and United States citizenship. With all the problems in the world, these three characteristics put me at the top of the heap on the day of my birth: of the billions of people on this planet, I was born into the top 2 percent, luck-wise.
