Should I buy a Playstation 3?
Back when it was around $600 for the system, I barely even considered it an option; I simply didn’t like games that much to spend that much money. But, with the introduction of the Slim model, I’m starting to reconsider.
I admit, my interest in video games has declined slightly in the last few years. One of the biggest reasons the PS3 is interesting to me is because Doom IV is coming out soon, and free online play sounds good to me. That’s really the only FPS I’m interested in though; I play mostly adventure and strategy games (like Shadow of the Colossus, for instance) on my PS2. I don’t spend hours gaming normally but when I find any one game I like I will spend quite a bit of time with it; I just haven’t heard about many great games from my preferred genre(s) on these next-gen consoles. All I ever hear about these days is Call of Duty.
So anyways, given that information, could somebody tell me whether or not the PS3 would be worth my money personally, and if so maybe recommend some games to check out? Thanks!
Two contradicting answers. Does anybody else have an opinion?
One game is not worth it, and I haven’t even heard about Doom IV coming out and even if it is it will probably be inferior to the PC version. If you’re only going for Doom IV I wouldn’t get it. PS3 is for the more heavy gamers, you should like a lot of the first party exclusives if you want to get it.

If your interest in games is steadily declining, go for it. The PS3 is for the solo, recreational game player. But if you are going to start playing a lot online, go for the 360.
