Is it gay for a straight guy to like Madonna?
I’m completely straight, but I find myself listening to Madonna sometimes. I like alot of the earlier stuff, I have a few albums on my phone. Is it OK to like Madonna? I know she’s like some kind of symbol of gay self expression. I also listen to Empire of the Sun. Are they straight friendly too?
Because you like Madonna does not make you gay. I like Ellen DeGeneres but that does not make me a lesbian

It isn’t "gay" to like Madonna.
I like some of her songs and I liked her role as "Breathless" in the "Dick Tracy" movie (not to mention the sultry singing she did too).

I’m not even going to satisfy this question with a yes or no. Are you asking if liking Madonna will make other people think you’re gay? Are you asking if liking Madonna will actually change your sexual orientation? What is it that you want to know? Gay people are just as varied as everyone else; look past the the ridiculous stereotypes. If you’re straight, then what the hell can liking Madonna possibly do to you? Are you afraid to be yourself?

It’s perfectly fine to like Madonna. Just because your straight doesn’t mean you can’t listen to certain artist.
True some gay people see her as self expression, but that doesn’t mean only gay people can listen to her. And besides, you would be amazed by how many artist and bands in the 80’s and on were loved by straight people but were gay. For example:
WHAM!
Boy George
Freddy Mercury from Queen, no one ever knew that tell they said he was.
Elton John
and so many others
They were and are all loved by people but no one knew they were gay before tell said they were.
So by some people’s "logic" if a man listened to any of them then he was gay when in truth all people loved them straight and gay.
You shouldn’t even fear liking Madonna because no matter what people think your not gay and you know your not. But alas so many people do think that and so they fear liking a person because of fear of social rejection they think they will face when in truth they won’t.
The way they think also works both ways in some logic. If listening to gay singers or singers gay people like makes you "gay", then does listening to a straight singer make gay people "straight"? No and no because music does not change a persons sexuality nor those it bring on new "sexual habits".
Oh and it’s ok to listen to Empire of the sun also.
