Why has your god created humans as imperfect, then set his standards so high that no one could possibly live up to them, then punishes us for not living up to his standards?

Regarding the entrapment issue you are actually right but it is purposeful – the point of the law is to show us that we don’t live up to it so we will accept the gift of grace. A nudge toward the way to get saved if you will – only an arrogant fool would try to get to heaven by fulfilling a law that cannot be lived up to as you say.

I like the part when they refer god as "he" as if god was a male. But in order to be a male, you must have male characteristics; namely the genitalia. So you have to be human to be a "he". So god was a human?

God’s image means we have an immortal soul. He also gave us free will to make our own choices. It is our decisions that are imperfect, not our being. His standards are not too high to reach, but they are something that needs work and practice. God is also forgiving and understanding so when we fail, we can try again.

The way its supposed to work is God created us as "gods in embryo" and by living in the Light, we would go through the deification process (also known as theosis or beatification or exaltation) and actually become as the gods.
