The word “Lhasa” means the Holy Land or the Buddha Land. The city has also been appointed as one of the 24 historical and cultural cities of China.Lhasa is a really beautiful city . Lhasa is situated in the South Central part of the region, on the North bank of the Kyichu River (Lhasa River) in a mountain-fringed valley. It covers 30,000 square kilometers (11,583 square miles), with a population of 400,000, of which 87 percent are Tibetans.

;The local tibetan people are kind and friendly . they helped me a lot . Just as carrying luggage .one day , I met a tibetan guy who speaks well English .He told me that he is a student of Tibet University .He liked travelers to visit his home town –Lhasa . Night Life in Barcelona

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

The city of Barcelona itself has a population of just over 1.6 million, with more than double that in the outlying areas.

A quintessentially Mediterranean city, Barcelona was home to the 1888 World’s Fair, which catapulted the city onto the international scene as an icon for culture and the arts. Today, the city is a riveting study in contrast: Modern skyscrapers reflect their shadows over the city’s Gothic center, which is preserved, almost completely intact; historic Barcelona is a maze of narrow streets, while the 19th century Eixample district, for example, is a perfectly ordered grid. Locals speak Catalon as well as Castillian Spanish, another reflection of the city’s dual heritage.

If you like history, Barcelona is a perfect choice, as you can take advantage of a dizzying array of historic not to mention culture, religious and culinary. (Do keep in mind that like most of Spain, Barcelona observes a daily siesta, so be sure to double check hours of operation for museums and city tours before you venture out.)

However, if you’re coming to Barcelona for a taste of its nightlife scene, or even if you’re just curious about the city’s renowned late-night culture, then you definitely won’t be disappointed.

The evening’s activities are usually kicked off with a leisurely and social dinner, which starts no earlier than 9 PM. Barcelona is famous for its restaurants, many of which fuse international cuisine with a local, Mediterranean flare be sure to check out a tapas place or two! After dinner, you can head out to one of the dozens of typically Catalonian champagne bars. Then, following the suit of locals, a discotheque is next on the agenda. Or, for a more authentic experience, you can check out a flamenco club. Barcelona also has countless live music clubs, with a wide range of world musical styles. You can even find more than your fair share of karaoke clubs.

If you are visiting in the summer and are interested in a slightly more refined experience, you might want to check out the Sonar Music Festival, usually held in June. Barcelona is also home to Catalonia’s largest symphony orchestra, the Orquestra Simfonica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC), which performs seventy-five concerts per season at its new home, the l’Auditori.

Sports enthusiasts are also sure to love nighttime in Spain, as that is when the city’s star football and basketball teams come to life. The FC Barcelona sports club is best known for its football team, one of Europe’s largest and a two-time winner of the UEFA Champions League.

At the end of long night of dining, drinking, dancing or cheering on your favorite footballers (an intensely ruckus experience, especially in the football obsessed Barcelona), visitors will find an array of accommodation options to retire to. While Barcelona certainly has numerous luxury hotels including some of Europe’s highest rated the city also offers ideal accommodations for visitors on a budget even a shoestring one.

Ensure Your Dog is Safe This Thanksgiving

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

Ah, the leaves are changing from shades of green and melting into amber hues yellows and bright, bold reds. Add that to the backdrop of a crisp, blue sky and it’s as if heaven’s paint box has spilled over! From pumpkins and spice to pies and turkey filled tummies, the arrival of the holidays bring a sense of excitement into the air . . . but what about our furry friends? How can we make this special time of year sweet, safe and salvia provoking yummy for them too? Read on to find out . . .

Turkey Table – Dogs Welcome

Admit it. When we banish Fido to the basement for holiday gatherings we feel pretty crumby. Sometimes, we can’t even have fun thinking that they are down there moping around while we are upstairs living it up.

When it comes to doggies and the dinner table . . . we all know that it can be a little strange to guests when our dog is given a seat at the head of the table. But, just because we shouldn’t sit him next to Uncle Tim doesn’t mean that we have to banish him from the gatherings all together.

Create a special little place for your pet at the end of the dining room or in his favorite spot. Make it festive and bright. A good way to do this all while keeping all those wayward kids at bay while you cook? Cut out a big piece of cardboard and let the kids draw on a cute autumn scene from the dining table. Place crayons into sandwich bags for each child to avoid the age old fight over the red crayon.

Dining Safety

Bones and birds and gravy . . . oh my! Thanksgiving is a dog’s dining dream and those “begging” eyes make it no secret. But what thanksgiving treats are safe for dogs and which ones should be avoided?

Foods to Avoid:

• Spicy, oniony and greasy food – these items can cause pancreatitis in pets, a painful and sometimes dangerous inflammation of the pancreas

• Bones – they break or splinter and become lodged in the digestive track, in some cases they can even puncture areas of puppy’s delicate tummy

• Nuts – these can cause swelling in legs, tremors and other numerous pup illnesses

• Chocolate and Sweets – chocolate can be especially toxic and sweets that have been sweetened with xylitol can be just as deadly

• Grapes or Raisins – these unsafe treats can cause kidney failure in pets

• Mushrooms – some types may prove toxic to animals

Foods Perfect for Pets

• Green Beans – a perfect treat both healthy and safe for doggie snacking

• Cottage Cheese and Plain Yogurt – the pro-biotics are great for doggie digestion

• Apples – it’s true even for dogs, an apple a day keeps the vet away

• Low Fat Peanut Butter – (healthy even though it sticks to the roof of his mouth)

• Turkey – and the dogs of the world said “amen!” Poultry when thoroughly cooked and not covered in greases is a great treat for pups

Adorable Ensembles

In today’s modern world festive fashion isn’t just for pet mommies. Turn your furry sweetie into a gobble-gobble “he’s so cute” gush waiting to happen with this adorable do it yourself doggie thanksgiving tee.

Tail Wagging Thankfulness

Start out with a simple doggie tee that you already have in your pet’s closet. You will need five sheets of peel and stick felt – brown, red, yellow, white and orange.

Start out by cutting a “peanut” shaped piece of brown felt and sticking it onto the back of your tee shirt. This will be your turkey’s head and body. Second, cut two “feet” from your orange felt and stick it onto the bottom of turkey’s body. Continue by cutting feather shapes from your orange, red and yellow felt. Stick the feathers on around the head and body.

Once your turkey’s body is complete, cut out two eyes from your white felt along with an orange beak and a read “dangler” to match. For added fun cut out small letters to spell “Gobble” and place them above or below your turkey to finish your look.

From yummy yams to tees filled with thanks, from our families to yours, we’re wishing you a thanksgiving truly filled with so much to be thankful for!

How to Stop Drowning in Credit Card Debt

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Want to hear something shocking? According to Indexcreditcards.com, the average American is carrying $4,013 in revolving (mostly credit card) debt and the average household is carrying $7,861 of such debt. Now keep in mind that about 25% of American households have no credit cards, which means the amount of average debt for credit card holding households is at least $10,000.

This, my friend, is a fiasco! There is no tiptoeing around this. If you are one of the 75% of American households who use credit cards and you want to get out of debt, you must, must, must STOP using your credit card for anything other than large purchases that you have planned and saved for.

Okay, I know once in a while you get one of those 0% interest limited-time offers and this may be a good way to finance a short-term “loan,” so to speak. (This is how my husband and I paid for several thousand dollars of extra expenses for our wedding without paying a CENT of interest.) But if you are using your credit cards for things like gas, food, utilities, or even to make your tax payments, you are in trouble! It’s time to take radical action.

Here’s what I want you to do. Keep your debit card in your wallet or purse—that one is okay since you have to have funds available for it to work—and get a nice big jar. A pasta sauce or salsa jar will do very nicely. Fill that jar with water. Now drop your credit card in the jar and say these words (spoken once by the ever popular X-Men character Storm)”I summon the powers of the arctic winds.” Go on, do it! Now, open your freezer door and nestle that jar FAR IN THE BACK!

No, I’m not kidding! You’ve got to put a freeze on your spending—You are out of control! Most people buy on impulse, so having your cards frozen—literally and figuratively— is the perfect tool. If you really, really, really want that Christian Dior tawny faux fox muff, you’ll have to wait till the ice thaws out—which means, you’ll be out of the store, you’ll be back home on your couch, and chances are what seemed SOOO important at the time will take a back seat in your mind. You may be reluctant to try, but let me assure you it works!

You’ve got to stop using credit for essentials and impulse buys and instead align your spending with what really means the most to you. That, my friend, is not that faux fox muff no matter how hard you may try to convince me it is.

Of course, if you ARE one of those households with lots of credit card debt you also need to do several things: 1) call the company and try to negotiate for a lower interest rate; 2) transfer your balance to a lower rate card you already have; 3) pay off your highest interest card first; 4) make it a game to see how fast you can pay down ALL your credit card debt; 5) give yourself rewards along the way—a day at the swimming pool, a hike in the woods, things you love to do that cost little to nothing.

The most enjoyable things in life are neither expensive nor hard to discover. It’s time that you stop drowning yourself in debt by overusing credit and instead get out of deep water. It’s time to put a freeze on your credit use that puts even Jack Frost to shame.
