-A ferocious creature that was half man – half bull?

Asterion, the Minotaur. His mother was Pasiphae, the queen of Crete, his father was the holy bull that had been sent by Poseidon as a sacrifice.
See, Minos – the king – was supposed to have sacrificed it to Poseidon (after claiming none of his own cattle was good enough) but he found the bull so fine, he sacrificed another one instead. Poseidon was furious, and he sent the bull into a rage and drove Pasiphae insane, so she fell in love with the beast and wanted to mate with it. So she had Daedalus, the engineer, build a wooden cow she could get inside and lure the bull.
Well… it worked… and she became pregnant… and she gave birth to Asterion.
Minos had him locked up inside the Labyrinth.
Traditionally, the Minotaur (=`Bull of Minos?) is endowed with the body of a man, but the head of a bull.

-The youngest + most powerful of Uranus & Gaea’s Titan Children?

Chronos, who ended up overthrowing his father, just as his son Zeus would eventually overthrow him.

- The god known for his winged sandels & helmet?

Hermes, the messenger of the gods, as well as being the god of merchants, travellers and thieves, and particularly of thieving travelling merchants.
He also guided the souls of the dead to the underworld.

- The hero who defeated the Minotuar?

That was Theseus of Athens. He was aided in his endeavour by princess Ariadne, the Minotaur?s half-sister, who gave him a sword and a long, long length of string, so he could trace his steps back out of the Labyrinth.

- Hero who killed Medusa?

Perseus, a demi-god; the son of Zeus and a mortal princess. Slaying the Gorgon Medusa was a quest he had to fulfill to claim his birth-right.
Medusa was one of the children of Keto and Phorkys, primordial sea-monsters. She was one of triplets; her monstrous sisters Stheno and Euryale were identical twins, but she did not look like them. She was also not immortal like they were.
Medusa had actually been an attractive woman, but the goddess Athena, in a fit of jealousy, had cast a curse on her, turning he hair into snakes, and making it so that anyone who looked her in the eye would turn to stone.
Perseus first got the counsel of the Graiai, three women who had been born as old ladies, sisters of the Gorgons, who shared only one eye and only one tooth between them. They gave him a sword and a polished shield, which he used as a mirror to avoid looking at Medusa directly.

- Location of the palace of the gods & goddesses?

Mount Olympus.

- Where Gaea sprang from (A dark, shapeless mass)?

Chaos.

- Goddess of agriculture?

Demeter.

- One eyed monster?

Cyclops. The original Cyclopes were Brontes, Steropes and Arges, triplets born from Gaia and Ouranos.
The Odyssey tells of a race of Cyclopes, the most famous of whom was the tragic brute, Polyphemus.

- God of fire & blacksmiths?

Hephaestos, one of only two children of Hera and Zeus; when he was born, he was so ugly Hera threw him off Olympus, which is why he limps. But he is the most brilliant of craftsmen, and he has his smithy under the volcano Etna.

- Nine headed serpent?

The Hydra of Lerna, one of the monstrous offspring of Typhon and Echidna. Its venom was incredibly deadly, and for every head that was cut off, it would sprout two new ones; also, its ninth head was immortal. The hero Heracles had a hard time with the beast, but his cousin Iolaus helped him out by searing the wounded necks shut before new heads could grow, so eventually only the immortal head was left. Heracles buried that under a rockslide.

- Hero who battled Polyphemus?

Strictly speaking, nobody BATTLED Polyphemus. But Odysseus tricked the cyclops: first, he gave the giant a false name (Odeis; that?s Greek for `Nobody?), then he offered him strong wine (this wine was supposed to be watered down for drinking; also, Polyphemus was not used to alcohol); finally, when the giant cannibal slept, he and his men cut a big beam into a spike and hardened the tip in the fire; and they stabbed out his eye.
They did not kill him because then they would have been trapped in the cave, because they were unable to move the huge rock Polyphemus used for a door. Now, he let out his herd of sheep to feed in the morning, and Odysseus and his men escaped by hanging on to the underside of the big sheep.

- Goddess who stayed near the hearth?

Hestia, one of Zeus? siblings. She was the goddess of domestic fire. Of all the Greek gods, she might be the most forgotten. I imagine she was a lot more important in a time when you had to watch the fire so it would not go out.
Her Roman counterpart was Vesta, and her priestesses, the Vestal virgins, would be severely punished if they allowed the ritual fire to die.

- Mother Earth?

Gaia or Ge. The first living thing in the universe, in the Greek cosmology.

- Goddess of marriage?

Hera. Which is why she was particularly furious when her husband Zeus wa

Movies that work with this same kind of premise?
Hey! My sister and I were talking about movies earlier. The movies we were talking about were ones where the main good guy character is the only one who knows that the one guy is a real jerk. The jerk has every one fooled into thinking he is a good guy too. Aah, I’m I explaining this well? A few movies that came to mind were the Cable Guy and Mr. Woodcock. I’m sure we are missing a bunch more. What other movies are similar to it? I know I forgetting one I watched recently, and it’s driving me crazy! Thanks so much!

Move to California to go to USC and try to be an actress? 10 points!!?
I’m a junior in high school. I participate in the theater at my school. I currently have the lead for the Spring Musical of Guys and Dolls. I get straight A’s.

Since i was little I’ve dreamed of being in the movies and one day possibly winning an Academy Award. Though it’s something i aspire to do, I want to be realistic and have a back up plan. I was thinking about applying to University of Southern California. It’s in Los Angeles, so i figured that it would be a great place to get a good education in possibly a bachelor in Nursing and also try and pursue my dream of acting. If it doesn’t happen, then It doesn’t happen.

…I live out of state so the cost of attending would be pretty expensive.

Is it worth it to do this? Or should i just plan on moving there after college?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

USC has one of the best Acting programs in the country. They’re also a GREAT university overall.

Do you need a BFA/MFA degree to act? Nope. Will it help? maybe…

I majored in both business and music in college. The business degree was my best decision for many reasons. Because of it I have been more successful than my colleagues who have either started the same time as I did or have been doing this much longer. Thanks to my business degree, I have been able to successfully market myself, network effectively, be more professional, avoid scams, know tax loopholes/write offs, etc. It has also helped me produce multiple streams of income so I can pursue acting because I enjoy it and NOT as a source of income.

This is called show BUSINESS, not show-screwing around.

Also, I believe college is about experiencing as much as you can. Audit as many classes outside of your major and get involved with campus activities. Part of acting is living the life. Get a rich college experience so you have a good story to tell through your experiences.

My beef is with year+ institutions like AADA and BFA/MFA programs is this. I believe in being more diverse in my training. The year+ programs can sometimes be like factories where they churn out actors who are taught pretty much the same thing through a structured curriculum. What might work for one person, will NOT work for a different person.

Also, a lot of the conservatories and BFA/MFA programs have strict policies such as NOT being able to audition outside of their school or study at other places simultaneously. I think this is limiting to the actor. The actor should have the freedom to audition for outside projects and add to the current curriculum.

If you compare Fabian Socialism to our Gov't today, don't you agree they resemble each other?
Fabian Socialism:

We have recently seen a greater push toward socialism, though few realize it. The government is assuming more and more responsibility for and authority over the economy, all under the guise of protecting the people from potentially unscrupulous free marketeers. We are being moved yet another step closer to the dream-society of the Fabians. Of course, these are simply steps, essential parts to a much broader agenda, one that is authoritarian in nature and execution, even the centrally planned economy is a mere step, not the end product. It is all carefully crafted, manufactured to ensure the most popular support possible for "people-friendly" solutions while instituting a fraudulent system of central control over the unsuspecting public. The system has been marketed to the public, one specific component at a time, each component essential to the completion of the whole and that is the brilliance of this gradual imposition of Fabian Socialism in this country.

The greatest bulwark against tyranny in America has always been the system of private ownership and free enterprise, it is the cornerstone of our system of government and without it our freedoms and liberty are in jeopardy. Central economic planning is, in a very basic sense, the keystone to Fabian Socialism, for in order for it to succeed, central State planning and control must replace the system of free enterprise. While it was not necessary for the State to actually own or directly control all the elements in the economy it is enough for the State to have the right to assert itself in any area that it deems necessary. The Fabians called it "the democratization of economic power", in other words socialized and centralized control over economic direction within the country.

In 1942, Stuart Chase, in his book "The Road We Are Traveling" spelled out the system of planning the Fabians had in mind; the interesting thing is to look at that plan in comparison to 2008 America.

1. Strong, centralized government.

2. Powerful Executive at the expense of Congress and the Judicial.

3. Government controlled banking, credit and securities exchange.

4. Government control over employment.

5. Unemployment insurance, old age pensions.

6. Universal medical care, food and housing programs.

7. Access to unlimited government borrowing.

8. A managed monetary system.

9. Government control over foreign trade.

10. Government control over natural energy sources, transportation and agricultural production.

11. Government regulation of labor.

12. Youth camps devoted to health discipline, community service and ideological teaching consistent with those of the authorities.

13. Heavy progressive taxation.

It should be evident that while Socialist no longer use the name that the plan is Socialism at its heart. The Fabian Socialist Revolution began in earnest in this country in 1933 with the imposition of the Welfare State and has been steadily progressing since. Those who are promoting this system, whether in the Republican Party or Democratic Party, are nothing less than Traitors, guilty of a type of high treason that deserves the most punitive penalty for such treachery. Listen carefully to the propositions of both McCain and Obama; I suspect that you will quickly find both of their positions are not only similar, but propose in essence and detail the Fabian Socialist construct. The system that these marauders are imposing upon us will ultimately alter our system of government beyond recognition.

#4 is key for this country. As soon as we are dependent, we can be abused.

Cool movies?
I was recently at a video store, and could not find any movies that I like, the ones recommended wern’t very good.
Can anyone suggest any cool movies, possibly in these categories:
"Dunston Checks In",
"A Walk to Remember",
"See Spot Run",
"Ice Age",
"The Pacifier"

No thrillers, horrors, or plain stupid moveis, and not alot of PDA. Comedy is okay, Good moral and messege, some might consider them cheesy, girl movies, or any funny types. I tend to like movies that were let out around the late 1900’s.
Thanks… :)

I liked Over Her Dead Body and Sweet Home Alabama. The Game Plan was also a good movie. Hope that these help ya.
