ultrasound – what should I see?
I am having an ultrasound next Wednesday. I’ll be 5 weeks and 6 days according to my lmp. What should I be able to see? I’m wondering if I should change the appointment from next Wednesday to the following Monday and then I’d be 6 weeks 4 days. Would that make a big difference?
i had one at 4 weeks and change and all they could see was the sac, the one i had at 6 weeks 3 days i could see the sac, a bean shaped baby, and the heartbeat. just keep your appointment or ask advice from your doctor. you cant expect to see a lot but your next u/s a couple days later theres a HUGE difference. my next appointment was at 8 weeks 3 days and i saw a little person complete with arms and legs. either way its a wonderful experience.

I had one at 5 weeks and 4 days and they could only see the sack. It wasn’t until my first OB appt at 11 weeks that I could see the baby.

No it wouldn’t make much of a difference. All you’ll be able to see at this point is the amniotic sac and the heartbeat.
I just had an ultrasound done at 13 weeks and was able to see everything.

You won’t be able to see much. I had an ultrasound done at 6w2d with this one and really all they could make out was the flickering of the heart beat.

I’m not really sure what you will see at 5-6 weeks. i only had my ultrasound at 12 weeks and we saw a lot! We say her whole body very clearly. Even more at 20 weeks. It was surreal!

I had my first ultrasound done at 7 weeks and we just saw the tiniest little dot with a heart beat but so much better at my 12 week scan. congrats.
