Tarp daugybės praeito amžiaus pabaigos televizinių projektų, ypatingą vietą užima “X-Files” – mokslinis fantastinis serialas, kuris privertė tikėti tuo, kuo ankščiau netikėta. Žmones visada traukė paslaptingi dalykai. “X-Files” leidžia žmogui pasinerti į istorijas, pilnas neįtikėtinų, fantastinių įvykių.

Agentai ir mitologija
Du FTB agentai Foksas Malderis ir Dana Skali, kurie narplioja bylas pavadinimu “X”, televizijos ekranuose pasirodė 1993 metų rugsėjo mėn. Už serialą turim dėkoti Krisui Karteriui – tuo metų nuolatiniam bibliotekų lankytojui, kuriuose jis ieškojo įdomių idėjų savo naujiems projektams. Karteris surinko didžiulį įvairių nepaprastų įvykių liudijimų rinkinį: susitikimai su ateiviais, pabaisas, telepatija, mutantai ir pan. Sumaišęs tai su savo fantazija jis nuėjo į studiją “Fox” ir pasiūlė naują televizijos projektą, kuriam ir buvo lemta tapti populiariausiu 90-ųjų fantastiniu serialu.
Tačiau kuo “X-Failai” skyrėsi nuo kitų fantastinių teletrilerių? “X-Failų” sėkmės paslaptis – jo nepaprastas stilius. Režisierius Devidas Natter’is karta pasakė: “”X-Failai” tapo vienas iš pirmųjų serialų, kurio stilius žavi labiau negu jo siužetas”. Iš vienos pusės – nepaaiškinamieji reiškiniai, kurie sukuria paslaptingą atmosferą. Iš kitos – visai realus Malderis ir Skali, kurie atrodo ir elgiesi, kaip tikri FTB agentai. “X-Failai” – rimtas projektas, o jo specifinis protingas humoras ne ironizuoja serialą, o labiau papildo rodomas istorijas.
O šios istorijos pačios įvairiausios. Žiūrovas gali pagalvoti, kad tarp epizodu netgi nėra siužetinio ryšio. Iš dalies tai tiesa: dauguma serijų pasakoja apie “atskirai paimtus” nepaaiškinamus reiškinius, o kai kurias iš jų netgi galima pavadinti juokingomis – tačiau jos irgi yra tos “firminės” serialo atmosferos dalis.
“X-Failų” populiarumas pradėjo kilti lyg ant mėlių, žiūrovų skaičius nesuskaičiuojamai augo, ir po labai sėkmingo pirmojo sezono, pasirodė dar aštuoni. O juk serialo pradžioje Karteris ruošiesi nufilmuoti tik 50 serijų. Per visą savo ilgą istoriją, “X-Failai” yra gavę daugybę prestižinių apdovanojimų, tame tarpe ir “Auksinį Gaublį” – už geriausią draminį serialą.
Kovoje už teisingumą
Pagrindiniai serialo herojai – Federalinio Tyrimų Biuro agentai, dirbantis nepaaiškinamų reiškinių skyriuje.
Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) – ištikimas kovotojas už teisingumą, kuris neabejoja, kad vyriausybė slepia visą tiesą nuo žmonių, todėl tą tiesą jis ir stengiasi išaiškinti. Jo jaunesniąja seserį pagrobė ateiviai, tiesiai prieš jo akis. Psichologas pagal išsilavinimą, Malderis pradžioje sėkmingai tyrė bylas susijusias su maniakais ir sieriniais žudikais, tačiau veliau perėjo į kitą skyrių ir pradėjo dirbti su slaptom bylom. Jo darbo kabinetas lūžta nuo NSO nuotraukų, o siena puošia plakatas su užrašu “I want to believe” (ši fraze tapo kultine). Namų kompiuterio slaptažodis – “Nepasitikėk nekuo”. Bijo ugnies ir kiekvieną naktį sapnuoja košmarus. Pesimistas, visą savo laiką skiria darbui.
Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) – Mulderio partnerė ir visiška jo priešingybė. Materialistė, paskirta dirbti su Mulderiu tam, kad “pažvelgti į jo darbą, iš mokslinės pusės”. Ji visada skeptiškai žiūrėjo į partnerio hipotezes apie moksliškai nepaaiškinamas jėgas. Tačiau, per ilgus darbo metus Skali pradeda tikėti, ir galų gale pripažįsta, kad Mulderis yra teisus.
Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) – FTB direktoriaus pavaduotojas, tiesioginis Mulderio ir Skali viršininkas, kuris dažnai yra tiesiog pėstininkas slaptųjų organizacijų žaidime.
John Jay Doggett (Robert Patrick) - specialus FTB agentas, paskirtas į “X-Failų” skyrių. Pirma kart pasirodė aštuntajame sezone, kad agentą paslaptingai pagrobė agentą Mulderį. Iki FTB John’as tarnavo jūrų pajėgose, o taip pat detektyvu policijoje. Netiki nei į ateivius, nei į nepaaiškinamus reiškinius.
Paskutinė serija pasirodė 2002 metais, pavadinimu “Tiesa”. Bet ar tai pabaiga? Tikrai ne. 2008 metais, liepos 24 d.(Lietuvoje žada 25 d.) pasirodys antrasis “X-Failų” kino filmas – X Files 2. Laukiu jo labai.
