What is the best book to read after Vincent Bugliosi's Helter Skelter?
I have just read Helter Skelter ad found it fascinating. The book only really goes up to the end of the trial and scentencing, where as I know over the next few years there was an awful lot of other events involving the family, especially with Squeeky. Does any one know the best book to read regarding the Family post Tate-Labianca trial?

First, you should read "In His Own Words" by Charles Manson. It is actually a compilation of interviews and essays by Manson himself, and really helps you to get inside his head. He speaks of childhood abuse and madness, very fascinating.

You may enjoy "The Long Prison Journey of Leslie van Houten: Life Beyond the Cult" by Karlene Faith

There was a special on the History channel, now available on DVD called "What Happened After?" and you should also watch the sick and unrepentant cartoon "Live Freaky! Die Freaky!"

No. There is no greatest film ever because it’s entirely subjective. The reason it gets the recognition it receives is because of the innovations made during its production. A lot of the techniques and tricks used in modern film making stemmed from the aesthetics of this film.

Quite frankly, I can’t get past 10 minutes of the darn thing.

I would start with their third album, "War"

The first track Sunday Bloody Sunday is the most famous, but there are some other, equally good songs that demonstrate their beliefs. "Seconds" the second track takes a stronger anti-war stand than the first track, while the album version of "New Years Day" has some additional lyrics that discuss religion, that were cut from the version that was released as a single.

For a more contemporary look at their political views, I would start with their 2004 album, "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb".

Help with a movie title?
I watched it a year or so ago as a telecast on my living room TV on a weekend day….so it wasn’t a DVD.

I remember it as something of an English Classic Period piece…beautiful country side estates…very much like Pride and Prejudice…a darker type plot…social standards not matching…a couple meeting on the sly on estate property…a small lake with a hide away looking over the water…they escaped there where no one would find them for afternoons…

It seems to me they both married someone else inspite of their love…for whatever reason…I can’t remember…but as the years progressed always wondered and longed for each other.

At some point the male lead character had a fire in his estate and got horribly disfigured and stayed alone…can’t remember if his spouse died or what….the female lead was finally made aware of his situation and at that point he was very ill…she went to him and took care of him and what was left of his estate…by the end when they got together they were middle aged at best….

That’s about all I can remember but it was such a good movie and I’d love to see it again if I could just find out what it was!!!
Any ideas??
