Plot: Sent from the city to investigate the murder of a teenage girl in a small Alaska town, a police detective (Pacino) accidentally shoots his own partner while trying to apprehend a suspect. Instead of admitting his guilt, the detective is given an unexpected alibi, but this “solution” only multiplies the emotional complexity and guilt over his partner’s death. He’s also still got a murder to solve, in addition to the blackmail and framing of an innocent bystander being orchestrated by the man they were chasing. There’s also a local detective (Swank) who is conducting her own personal investigation… of his partner’s death. Will it all come crashing down on him?

So I am only 14 years old and have had many problems in my life. I have gone through a point where I was almost anorexic (Through a 2 1/2 year period) to a point where I gained alot of weight, now I have anxiety, OCD (Obsessive, Compulsive, Disorder), and social phobia that I am dealing with. I am also really shy. Now I think that I might have depression. I am always so tired, I can’t even explain how tired I get. I try really hard not to, but I fall asleep in classes alot. I toss and turn all night long and I wake up alot. I always take naps. I always feel so guilty when I take naps but I feel like If I don’t I won’t/can’t make it through the rest of the day. I am always so sad. I always feel so alone. I don’t think about death or suicide but I feel worthless. I feel like there is a big hole in my stomach. Lately I have been clutching my stomach alot. I cry alot. Sometimes I have these outbursts of sadness and it is so hard to control. My parents have noticed that I withdrawl myself from activities I used to enjoy. I don’t do alot of things I used to enjoy anymore. I feel lonely. Sometimes it is so hard to bare. I hate it. But then I don’t want to talk to anyone about it. I don’t know what to do. I go to a therapist but I hate going there. She always asks me so many questions and she talks to me like I am a baby. I don’t think my parents will let me switch therapists again because I just switched a few months ago because I didn’t feel comfortable with my other one. I really hate going to school. I don’t feel happy there. I hate feeling this way. It has been going on for about 2 months now. I don’t want to tell my mom and dad because I don’t want them to tell my therapist. She already makes me uncomfortable enough. Could I have sleep insomnia/apnea too? Or would it just be all depression related? I haven’t slept well for a really long time. I feel so worn out. Even though my therapist gave me a sleeping pill that is supposed to help me sleep alot better. It only helps me get to sleep. Not stay asleep. I take medication for my anxiety and OCD. But I feel so embarressed talking to my therapist I feel like this would only make it worse by talking about depression. I really feel uncomfortable at the thereapist’s office. Do you think I have depression? What should I do? Please help me! No rude comments please, I am just a girl who has many problems and dosen’t understand why I have to deal with all of these things. Your rude comments would only make my situation worse. Please, I would really appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks.
I forgot to say that I have nightmares alot. (That is when I do sleep.) They are really vivid and I can remember so many of them. I am afraid to go wake up my parents and tell them because I don’t want them to get mad at me for waking them up. So I just try to deal with it.

Wow your life is hectic and i thought my life sucked, i have social phobia too but i’m to shy to see a therapist your brave you have one, i say just tell her everything put all your cards on the table so to speak, she is a trained Professional she’ll help if you don’t want to do that make your parents switch to a different therapist or a psychiatrist instead. I hope you feel better sorry i couldn’t help much =D

Believe it or not, a lot of people experience this when they are your age.
Your brain is undergoing a big transformation at the moment. It is starting to change into it’s adult form and during this time it is a very dynamic thing, getting rid of older connections that you don’t need anymore and forming new ones that you will need in the future.
At the same time (driving this process) your body is experiencing fluctuations in hormone levels, and this can make it seem like the world is caving in on you. It can make you feel hopeless, tired, and depressed.
But all of this is temporary. Imagine it like when they close a ride at Disneyland. Maybe the park seems kind of crappy when it’s down. Maybe they close down the entire land that the ride is in and then the park seems really crappy and you can’t have the fun you used to have…but when they’re done with the renovations and re-open everything they’ve made it into something spectacular.
Your body is the same. You’re undergoing renovation and so life seems kind of crappy right now.
The best way to get through this is usually to realize that it is temporary and make an attempt to stay active and involved with things. Also, talk to your parents. Trust me, your parents number one concern in life right now is your wellbeing. If you don’t like your therapist, it’s no problem. It doesn’t cost them money to find a new one.
You should also see a doctor and get some blood work done to check for low thyroid function, and anemia and other things that can cause fatigue. Depression and hormone changes can certainly cause it, not to mention growth spurts, but it’s good to rule out things that can be easily treated.
If these come back negative and you find it really is impossible to make it through the day without a nap, you might want to be tested for a sleep disorder, as these often arise during the teenaged years.

Is it time to break it off with my girl?
My girl Carmin and I have been dating for 3 months. Everything is fine execept she’s still living at home. She’s 20 and just started a full time, well paying job. Her family is nice, our sex life is great and we should most likely start getting serious about now. The problem is her younger brother Lenny. I get along with kids, and I like kids. But this kid is CREEEEPY! Whenever I am over there he’s always within ear and eye shot. If we go on an errand he’ll jump in the car and tag along. He’s 11 and fancies himself a magician. With that he laughed wickedly, threw a distracting combination of flash powder and smoke screen onto the floor! As I was coughing and trying to open a window the smoke alarm blared…when I turned, he had VANISHED!

yeah, the kid is a little weird. it’s possible that he just has a wild imagination or that he needs Ritalin or something. but having a crazy little brother is no reason for a relationship to end!
why not ask her to move in with you, if you guys are ready to be serious? that way you can control when and for how long you see her family-including the little brother. if she’s just started a well-paying job, she’ll be able to pay the rent.

Temporary Health Insurance?
I am looking for some temporary health insurance to cover accidents and the like until I am covered by medicare in one year or two years depending on a SS decision. I am 63 and live in Oklahoma. I received one quote from Golden Rule or United Health and wonder if the are a good firm? Please advise if you have experience with them or another such program.
If you had been working can you get Cobra insurance when you stopped working? If you are waiting for a decision on Social Security Disability, you still have to wait two years to get Medicare and by then you will be 65 anyway. Those health plans you mentioned are not in my state, so i don’t know because I dont live in Oklahoma. I suggest you contact an insurance agent because they sell all different companies.

I met this guy on New Year’s Eve and we hit it off. Our mutual friend introduced us and she me he was the nicest person ever, which I found to be true. Aside from that he was attractive and didn’t consider himself superior to others. We went out on a couple of dates which went really well and I loved that he acted like a gentleman, unlike other guys I had dated.
Unfortunately things went too fast and 17 days after meeting him I ended up having sex. Not that the sex wasn’t exceptional because it was, it’s just the fact that now I think he’s just using me for it and I’m getting too attached. For example, we still go on dates and do many things together but we aren’t a couple.
1. He hasn’t changed his FB relationship status.
2. He referred to me as his friend.
3. He told me today the following, "Well, if this doesn’t turn into anything, at least we will have changed each one another’s lives."
On the other hand he wants me to meet his parents (they live in Michigan, we live in Kentucky). He has introduced me to his friends. He’s always such a gentleman and worries about me. I don’t know what to think. We have sex quite often (even on the webcam) … but is he just in it for the sex? will this lead to more or fizzle out?

Sounds like both of you are enjoying what’s going on so unless you or he wants to be in a serious relationship there is no need to change anything. And the best way to ruin a "good thing" I guess you can say with any guy is to stop having sex because then you will confuse the crap out of him and he (even though he might love you) will find someone else who solves problems by speaking/debating rather then withholding sex.

First, he’s not using you. Your relationship isn’t defined, and he’s allowed to want a casual thing, if that’s what he wants.
It does seem likely that he wants to keep it casual (although there are definitely mixed signals there), and it seems like you don’t. So you need to talk to him about it, and tell him that you actually do want your currently-casual relationship to turn into something. Maybe he does too, in which case, great, you can make it official on Facebook. If he doesn’t, too bad, but at least then, you know.
There is another possibility: he might tell you he just wants to "see where it goes." This doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s leading you on–this can be a perfectly legitimate attitude. But if you’re willing to wait and see, just make a mental note to come back to this question in a month or two, to see if you’ve made any progress.

Look, if the guy likes you, as a person, then when you had sex with him is completely irrelevant.
Seriously, it doesn’t matter if you had sex with him on the first date, or the tenth date- if he feels a connection with you, then he’ll stick around and want more than just sex. If he doesn’t feel a connection, then he will just stick around for the sex, as long as you keep giving it to him.
In all honestly, all four of the relationships that I have had- I have had sex with those guys the first night that we hung out together. I know that some people might view me negatively for that, but I don’t think anything of it- I was an adult, I knew what I wanted, I was capable of making my own decisions, and I was careful as well.
I haven’t actually even had a ‘one night stand’ because every time that I intended it to be a one night stand, the guy kept calling/ pursuing me until I agreed to be his girlfriend. Also, these relationships did last until something occurred and they were broken off- the guy didn’t just end it out of nowhere, or because the sex became less frequent.
I messed around with my current boyfriend the first night that we hung out together, and, over two and a half years later, we are still together, and in fact, we live together.
As long as he feels a connection with you, and feels as though the two of you are compatible, then the fact that you had sex with him when you did will have absolutely nothing to do with him wanting (or not wanting) a relationship with you. He’s not going to think to himself: "well, she did me less than twenty days after hanging out. She’s a sIut. Even though I feel as though I have known her my whole life, and I really, really like her, I am just going to break up with her cause she slept with me so soon."

If he likes you, and enjoys doing other things with you as well as having sex, then he won’t want to JUST have sex; he will want to be exclusive with you.
Also, you haven’t even been seeing each other for two months yet- it is soon for him to ask you to be his girlfriend. Out of all of my serious relationships, I think the soonest that I became exclusive with any of them was after two months, so just give it a few more weeks or so and see what happens.
You two are still in the ‘getting to know each other’ phase, and just because you had sex does NOT mean that he now has to either commit, or dump you; he might need more time to be around you and to sense that he would be able to be with you long term before he asks you to be exclusive.
If you are really worried about it, then you can ask him about it, but if you don’t want to corner him and put him on the spot and potentially scare him off, then either wait until you absolutely can’t stand it anymore, or break up with him.

I think you are asking the wrong people the right question. You need to talk to him about this. Clearly he is giving cues for you to assume he is invested but holding off a bit to see what you think and feel. You have to remember that he is just as vulnerable to you as you are to him at this point. Just talk to him. What’s the worst that could happen? He says "hell no" and you move on. Sure you will be a little upset over it but if you are ready to lay it on the line and he isn’t…that’s just it.

Potential Officer Candidate Looking for Direction?
Hello,
Having finished a Bachelor’s degree last month with a pre-set graduation date of March 5, I decided it was time to contact an Officer Selection Officer and inquire about attending OCS this coming summer, 2010. With no criminal record or health issues, and outstanding moral character and job history, I am confident that I would be a worthy candidate. I will be graduating Magna Cum Laude, already exceed PFT requirements for the Marine Corps, and am confident after reviewing some ASVAB practice tests that I will score well.
Last week I submitted an info request form at MarineOfficer.com and followed-up by mailing a letter as a formal introduction including some of the information above along with my desire to lead and inspire Marines. In response, I received a phone call from a Gunny stating that the OSO was on vacation, but he offered to answer any questions. I expressed my desire for OCS this summer and how I started training this past October with that in mind. After sharing specifics of my workouts and my current height/weight (best shape of my life), the Gunny said that it seems like I’m serious, which has to be a good thing. Furthermore, he basically screened me over the phone and asked all the standard background check questions. The next step he said is to wait for a call from another Gunny or the 1st Lt. when he gets back to schedule an appointment. However, during the initial call, he stated that they are "not currently looking for college graduates to attend OCS this summer at this time, and an applicant would have to be very competitive."
At 26-years-old, I feel like I am running out of time and want to get started while I still have some youth in my twenties in case I want to do a combat MOS. My question is, how likely do you think it is that I could still get a spot this coming summer, or fall at the latest? Is is possible or acceptable to try and contact multiple OSOs, and would they be in different States, or would the one that came up from MarineOfficer.com be the one I should stick with and take the OSO’s evaluation as the final answer?
In the meantime, would you recommend that I start investigating, or initiating action with, another branch like the Army, or should I wait, and for how long? Is there anything else I should know, do or consider?
In general, I would like to know confirmed information related to the difference between branches regarding opportunities, commitment to excellence, and benefits in serving as an officer in one branch compared to another, along with any possible cons or negatives that should also be considered.

You sound like a good candidate for the military. It would probably be a good idea to talk to the other branches as well. The Air Force and Navy have excellent programs as well. Good luck in your future.

Yeah contact the Army.. Usually spots are priority for prior service, or currently enlisted men. And if I’m correct all officer positions for Guard/Reserve have to be posted nation wide, so you can see a lot of them on Career Builder and whatnot.
Either way If the Gunny Sgt won’t get back to you in time the Army will, give them a call and if you’re dead set on being a Marine, just don’t sign anything. You can get everything up to the contract done now and then if the Marines are definitely going to skip out on you, just sign away.
You have to press people to get things done in the Armed Forces a lot of the time, it rarely just happens easily.

Plot: Second ‘Oh God’ movie has God (again in the form of George Burns) appearing before 11-year-old Tracy Richards (Louanne) to ask for her help to spread his word and influence over the world which she suggests the slogan ‘Think God.’ Naturaly, Tracy’s divorced parents Paula (Suzanne Pleshette) and Don (David Birney) think Tracy’s just crazy and plot to halt her ‘heaven-sent’ mission to spread God’s word.

It was 1692 when a small village known as Salem announced that witchcraft was existent. Located in Massachusetts, Salem was a Puritan based society. These Puritans lived simplistic, yet strictly religious lifestyles all while valuing the concept of hard work. The brilliant and captivating play The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller is set during the time of the Salem Witch Trials. The play accentuates the fates of those who were accused before the trials and provides a firsthand account of the court proceedings. Elements found within the Puritan society are reflected in The Crucible through the Puritan government, the fear of the devil, and spectral evidence.
