do you think i have a low case of OCD?
to start things off, i dont have and extreme need to clean things. simply, its just orginization. when i was younger, maybe 7, everything had to be equal. if i touched an object with my left hand 4 times and only 3 times with my right hand, it would drive me crazy until i did it. there was even this one event where i would wink at my mom or my grandma, but then i had to wink the other eye to make it equal. when i started to get older, i forced myself to try to grow out of it. i still have little things that i do, like i how i get ready in the morning. i have an EXACT pattern that i follow when i brush my teeth. i also have an EXACT pattern that i follow when i wash my hands. and i know that with OCD, everything revolves around a certain number to follow. for me, its would be in fours, eights, and sixteens. like when im in the shower, i scrub a certain part of my body, usually sixteen times, but sometimes only eight. i also put things in the same place. the only thing in my life that isnt organized is my room. but whenever i straighten my hair or something, i always put that objects back in the same position. i also keep everything straight at school, like on my desk or in my binder. i just wanted to see what u guys had to say cuz my mom doesnt think i have anything but im convinced that i have a low case of OCD.

The winking and number deal is quite OCD’ish but not really the organizing thing. It could be that you just have OCD type tendencies.

I wouldn’t worry unless it’s impacting your life.

ocd ?? meet shrink for confirmation. u r wasting ur time over trifles but being organised is a good virtue !!!!
bakkeshwar | Feb 07, 2010

it does indeed sound like OCD. but,it shouldn’t be a problem as it is not interfering with your daily life. everyone has OCD to some degree and usually it is not something to worry about

(Easy 10 points) Please correct any errors in my short essay?
I’m writing an essay for a cultural anthropology class. I had to conduct 2 interviews with people from other countries. I did that and tried to turn in my findings but was told I had to analyze them rewrite it in my own words. I did so. If there any spelling, grammar that is off? Any room for improvement that I could edit? Thanks!

I’ve conducted my research from two women; one named Kim, from Brielle, in the Netherlands, and the other named Audrey from Cork, Ireland. I chose these two as they’re generally considered to be European nations with a western influence on them so was hoping to contrast between them in my findings to determine their similarities and differences. What distinguishes their cultural identities from each other while retaining western ideology. One of the first questions I asked both of my participants was what language they both spoke. My findings were interesting as Kims primary language is dutch but she speaks English fluently and that it’s not uncommon to find English speakers in the Netherlands whereas in my interview with Audrey her primary language is English, yet the Irish have their own language based on Gaelic known as Gaelige. She explained to me that when England took over they couldn’t understand the people so coerced them into speaking English. Which likely started as a second language for existing speakers of Gaelige during the post-war generation till it became a primary language to the generation that succeeded it. She told me the younger generation of Irish people aren’t as interested in learning Irish anymore though it’s taught so it won’t be forgotten. My next question I asked my participants was kind of foods do they eat there. Remarkably enough the foods are quite similar to what is commonly eaten in the United States. Kim told me that in the Netherlands they lovve cheese (And even prided herself on saying that its better than cheese produced in the U.S!) They have dutch styled pancakes, which she described to be thinner and larger compared to pancakes cooked in the U.S, and that they also have toppings for them! Such as bacon, cheese, mussels, and even garlic sauce! They also have boiled potatoes and hotchpot. Audrey said in Ireland she instead has meals comparable to food you’d find in the U.S ranging from chicken burgers, pizza, to vegetable plates, baked potatos, pasta, rice, hamburgers. Though she also mentioned foods eaten in the olden days of Cork, known as Tripe and Drisheen. Tripe, literally is an edible offal from the stomachs of various farm animals. In Ireland a whole cuisine was supposedly made out of this in Southern Cork because of the large production of meat gathered for the British Empire Cork had developed it’s own cuisine from any part of the animal leftover. Drisheen is a black pudding made from pig, cow, or sheep blood. She then went onto mention a traditional Irish breakfast which does include Drisheen in it. It consists of Drisheen (Though more commonly referred to now as pudding), bacon, fried eggs, sausages, beans, tomatoes, toast and coffee or tea. Next I inquired about what kind of religion is practiced and the answers varied. Kim told me that in the Netherlands religion is very diverse though most of the people are christian. In Ireland however mostly everyone is catholic and are very devout in their faith. Next I asked the two about what traditions and/or holidays they celebrate. Kim answered that it more or less depended on the person and that they have national holidays as well as local ones. One they celebrate appeals is a national holiday on May 5th, their liberation day. They do have Christmas and Easter but they also have something else. On December 5th, for kids mostly, they celebrate a holiday called Sinterklaas. She also described the story to me that goes back to a Greek bishop who used to live in Turkey. That was raised by a rich family. When his father died he gave everything to people who needed it and just took some money to travel. Eventually he is supposed to have saved some children and settled down in Greece as a bishop. After his death he was declared a saint. He I supposed to live in Spain and comes to the Netherlands by steamboat with Zwarte Pieten (Black men in weird outfits as she described) as his helpers. He then rides with his helpers on his horse and delivers to presents to children who have been good. The children who have been bad however would have to go with him back to Spain in a sack and receive a beating by a

Thanks! =]

My mother just read Water for Elephants–actually, I got it for her for Christmas–and loved it. She also enjoyed My Sister’s Keeper. Since you two seem to have the same tastes, I recommend some of her favorites: Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, Lottery, Three Cups of Tea, and The Memory Keeper’s Daughter.

There are also five novels that are, in my view, classics that everyone should read.
A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole (his other book, The Neon Bible, is good as well)
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseni (A Thousand Splendid Suns, his other book, is also good)
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller (but don’t waste your time with any of his other books, they suck)
What was she thinking? [Notes on a Scandal] by Zoe Heller
The Education of Hyman Kaplan by Leo Rosten (the sequel to this, The Return of Hyman Kaplan, is also, as Hyman Kaplan would say, "foist-cless")

Other novels that are good:
Christopher Buckley’s No Way To Treat a First Lady
Dave Barry’s Big Trouble
Grisham’s The Runaway Jury
Michael Connely’s The Brass Verdict
Robert Parker’s Night & Day

Buckley and Barry are funny, the other three write page-turners that keep you hooked. All of them have a ton of good books out, I just posted my very favorites of theirs.

So, hope I was helpful. Read these books, you won’t regret it.

Home Alone Movies Question?
What are your favorite ones? Home Alone 1, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Home Alone 3, Home Alone 4. My personal favorites are Home Alone 2 and Home Alone 4.

My personal favorite is the first Home Alone. Loved it as a kid, and watch it every chance I get over the Winter holiday. A classic Christmas family film. Home Alone 2 was good, but it was more or less the same movie in a different setting. Home Alone 3 was pretty bad… Culkin (and especially Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) made the first two movies enjoyable. I saw a few parts of Home Alone 4 on TV, but it was honestly pretty awful. Just my opinion.

 Potatums | Nov 11, 2009

idk I know i dont like 4, but I really like the bad guys and pranks eventhough the kid has an annoying voice in 3. 2 is awesome too, especially in the hotel, id say 2 or 3

Can someone tell me what this dream means?
It involves alot of water and i’ve heard whatever is the most meaningful part of dreams.
Here we go.

It started when I was who I am now but I woke up 40 years into the future as the same age. I was thinking internally I aged but I didn’t. I was in my kitchen discussing this. Then I walked to some other part of the mansion to a window. Outside the window everything looked so much more watery. The dry land turned into a swamp and the air was humid. One of my friends started a huge party at their house with 300 people, so I wanted to start a party of my own, but all of my furniture suddenly got taken and I had 15 minutes to get it. Her party got ruined but only 3 people could come to my house. Then an English guy started running to one town to this marketplace where things were sold once before but it was something different because of the 40 year difference. He then ran to a place that was also a marketplace but was now walmart, but he didn’t know it was. He said he needed a place to buy a king sized bed and large hottub. The hottubs at the mansion also had alligators swimming in them but it was fine. And the bathroom next to that had one tub filled with water. I woke up after the English guy and worker started talking about American Idol auditions.

Water is the symbol of emotions. If you woke up in 40 years, but were the same age, would mean as a dream symbol that you were still very young, innocent and immature.
CASS grew up in a time before political correctness and was forced to endure racist bullying on a daily basis, until one day when the years of pent up anger came out in a violent burst. CASS found through violence the respect he never had and became addicted to the buzz of fighting. His way of life finally caught up with him when an attempted assassination on his life, saw him shot three times at point blank range. His inner strength somehow managed to keep him alive but he was left with a dilemma; whether to seek vengeance as the street had taught him, or renounce his violent past.
Don't you think that Cass Elliot is underrated?
Everybody on here wrote that she was an amazing talent and great artist, but why then there’s so little words about her today? Okay, you know California Dreamin’, Monday, Monday and Dream a Little Dream of Me. But did you, for eg, ever hear her rendition of "Disney Girls", "I’ll Be Home" or "Jesus Was a Crossmaker"? How about "When It Doesn’t Work Out" or "The Good Times Are Coming"? Ha? I would say you didn’t.

Plot: William Shakespeare’s tale of tragedy of murder and revenge in the royal halls of medieval Denmark. Claudius, brother to the King, conniving with the Queen, poisons the monarch and seizes the throne, taking the widowed Gertrude for his bride. Hamlet, son of the murdered King, mournful of his father’s death and mother’s hasty marriage, is confronted by the ghost of the late King who reveals the manner of his murder. Seeking revenge, Hamlet recreates the monstrous deed in a play with the help of some traveling actors to torment the conscience of the evil Claudius. In a visit with his mother, Hamlet expresses his anger and disappointment concerning her swiftly untimed marriage. Thinking a concealed spy in his mother’s chamber to be the lurking Claudius, he mistakenly kills the meddling counselor, Polonius, father of Ophelia and Laertes. Claudius, on the pretext that Hamlet will be endangered by his subjects for the murder of Polonius, sends the prince to England.

Shakespeare help please?
i need to relate shakespeare’s work to his life. i want to choose hamlet and relate it to his son hamnet and say that the names are the almost the same and his son died at 11 and shakespeare wasnt around to raise him. this would cause him much grief and troubled, just like hamlet. also, the person who inspired hamnet’s name, shakespeare’s neighbor hamnet, is named in his will as hamlett. i dont think this is a conisidence. is this a good subject for a report? thanks(:
