IMDB rating: 7.50 Plot: Based on a true story that shocked the nation in 1965, the film recounts one of the most shocking crimes ever committed against a single victim. Sylvia and Jennie Fae Likens, the two daughters of traveling carnival workers are left for an extended stay at the Indianapolis (3850 E. New York St. is hardly suburban, nor was it in 1965, by any stretch of the imagination.) home of single mother Gertrude Baniszewski and her seven children. Times are tough, and Gertrude’s financial needs cause her to make this arrangement before realizing how the burden will push her unstable nature to a breaking point. What transpires in the next three months is both riveting and horrific, leaving one child dead and the rest scarred for life. |

Do you find this to be true about biblical Prophets and Intellectuals?
In biblical times, intellectuals who knew a great deal about the world, giving geo political analysis were known as prophets. At that time, all of these prophets were hated, oppressed, sent to the desert and imprisoned. While the Kings and Pharaohs were praised.
To this day, we disregard intellectuals like Noam Chomsky, Ron Paul, and many great minds who speak out against the authorities (Israeli Regime, and the American Government committing war crimes). And we label them as the crazy lunatics, their books are not all published, and little to no media attention is given to them. It is exactly the same thing we saw in history and mark my word, we will look back at these individuals as the greatest minds, and like prophets, as they are unveiling many things about what we regard as ethical, and "war on terror".
No.

Up until the 19th century, political leaders were largely religious leaders. They were not necessarily intellectuals, but very smart folks who knew how to climb to the top and stay there until deposed or assassinated.
The so-called intellectuals that you mentioned are hardly that wise. In many cases, they are extremists and certainly not the religious leaders of the past. They are viewed by most folks as radicals and will likely never be recognized at the same level as the prophets of the Bible, Islam, or any other religion.
Keep in mind that Israel’s prophets were advisors to Kings and the Chief judges. They weren’t politically extreme, but continued to represent God to the people, calling them to repentance under the mantle of their authority from God.
TD’s expected for my views and the view that this is nothing but a thinly-veiled political statement made under the guise of religion.

From my recollection all "favored" biblical kings and Pharaohs were praised because they claimed to rule by divine right. So that they were accordingly held to have been installed as kings/Pharaohs to rule the underlings beneath them.
Therefore, to criticize the king or Pharaoh would be an act of blasphemy against the gods or God.
Prophets didn’t always challenge the king or pharaoh. Sometimes they foretold the coming of such.
However, prophets are prophets. I do not view Chomsky, Paul or other "great minds" to be prophets. They may have foretold certain events, but then again there are many analysts who can play out a scenario using game theory and reach the same conclusion as a person proclaiming their self to be a prophet.

The Biblical prophets weren’t oppressed, nor were they imprisoned nor were they sent to the desert unless they went there on their own free will. The quran is not a good source to get your information about Biblical prophets.
