Prairie Home Companion, A
Prairie Home Companion, A (2006)

IMDB rating: 7.20

Plot: The movie is a celebrity version of Garrison Keillor’s radio show of the same name. The movie takes place during the last live performance of the show as the new radio network owners have sent an axeman (Tommy Lee Jones)to close the show. Another fantasy element is thrown in as an angel (Virginia Madsen) stalks the theater to take one of the performers. Keillor essentially plays himself, even using his own name for the character. Lily Tomlin and Meryl Streep play the singing Johnson Sisters, with Lindsay Lohan as a suicide-obsessed daughter of Streep. Woody Harrelson and John C. Reilly are hilarious as the slightly off-color singing cowboy duo, Dusty & Lefty. Kevin Kline is a security guard who act as the narrator. Maya Rudolph also appears as a pregnant stage coordinator. Contains some mild sexually-oriented jokes.

Directors: Altman Robert

Why is Garrison Keillor so ugly?
I have been listening to A Prairie Home Companion fairly regularly for the last twelve years (I am nineteen) and I think it is a pretty good show. I have gotten many laughs from it, and I appreciate its musical and literary talents as well.

Several years ago, I got Mr. Keillor’s book "Lake Wobegon, Summer 1956" for Christmas, and it had his picture on the inside of the dust jacket. Now, I know nobody looks like you expect them to on the radio, but DAMN!

So, has aging been unkind to Mr. Keillor, or does he perhaps have some sort of disease that lends itself to facial deformities? Perhaps he is simply unattractive… which I confess to being as well. What’s up with his face?
Yes, I am familiar with the expression "face for radio".

I do not see what this has to do with George Bush, though.

Hehe, I think he’s within the limits of normality…
Besides, if he were attractive, I think his material would suddenly start to cloy.

He has a face for radio man, have you not heard that expression? Good show, I admit I am a fan but Garrison and I dont see eye to eye on the President. When George Bush leaves the Whitehouse, I will probably start listening to and sending money to Public Radio. I dont care for Garrison’s Bush Bashing. I think it’s wreckless to make fun of the leader of your own country regardless of your party.
